Sharon Housing Partnership Meeting Minutes March 15, 2011 (Approved 1-12-12)

In attendance: Jane Desberg, Alan Lury, Lou Modestino and Mary Tobin

Meeting started at 7:20 PM

Approved Minutes from December 14, 2010 and January 11, 2011

Town Owned Parcels

Jane sent an email to Peter O’Cain explaining that Oak Hill site was found to be unsuitable due to recently identified zoning constraints.

The SHP is still interested in pursuing other potential sites.  Mary will look through her material to identify what sites were previously identified. One town parcel that may be of interest is 156 Mountain Street. This site is approximately 34.9 acres and was thought to contain 2 house lots.

Greg Meister will be reviewing town parcels with April Forsman to be clear on what restriction may exist.

Update on Sharon Commons

Jane mentioned that there may be some issues regarding 40R and compliance with required construction timeline. She will speak to Peter O’Cain to get information on this.

Sacred Heart

The warrant article concerning allowing disabled housing on this site is being proposed by the Miracle in Sharon group and not the Selectmen. Alan suggested that the SHP add “elderly housing” to the list of uses as an amendment to the article at May Town Meeting. Jane will asl Roni Thayer to be kept up to date on this issue.  The Selectmen are not in support of the Miracle in Sharon article. Susan Gittleman of B’nai Brith is working with a local realtor to identify parcels for purchase.

New Business

Jane will be attending CPA conference in early April.

Jane will look into how much money is available for affordable housing in the CPA account as the money from the Glenview house has been returned to the fund.

The Sharon Housing Authority has completed the yearly monitoring of both Avalon and Wilber School affordable units. Two affordable units at Avalon are being rented to new tenants.
